Our premier mystery, Big Yellow Lies, is a hometown thriller set in Peoria, Illinois. Peoria is a river town to its core. In the days before Prohibition, Peoria was the whiskey capital of the world, due to its rich availability of grains, easy distribution by river and rail, and a workforce dedicated to the enjoyment of their own products. There is also a lot of symbolism, including a famous Willie Nelson hit, “Whiskey River.”
