Mysteries run deep at Whiskey River.
Gritty Midwestern mysteries. Buried secrets. Broken loyalties.
People bury secrets. Central Illinois built a city on them…
A mystery twenty years in the making. Four teenagers entered an abandoned warehouse in 1987. What they witnessed changed every one of them. Two decades later, the man who took the fall comes home—and Peoria’s oldest secrets start rising to the surface.
Meet Clint Potts
Clint Potts writes Midwestern noir about buried secrets, broken loyalties, and people who know better—but do it anyway.
Raised in Peoria, Illinois, he draws on real streets, blue-collar history, and the rhythms of a river city. His debut mystery, Big Yellow Lies, introduces hometown detective Jess Keaton.
Now based in Chandler, Arizona, Clint manages large-city technology projects, spins vintage vinyl, and maps the next crime scene.

Pulled from Pre-Sale!
Hey everyone,
A quick note for those who pre-ordered Big Yellow Lies: I’ve decided to pause the release while I pursue traditional publication. The early buzz from readers and beta reviewers has been amazing, and I want to give this book the strongest possible launch.
If you pre-ordered, Amazon will automatically cancel and you won’t be charged. You’ll still be at the top of my list when the new edition is ready — whether that’s through a publisher or a relaunch down the road.
Thank you for believing in this story before anyone else. It means the world to me. I’ll share updates as soon as there’s official news.
—Clint

This is the part where you click the button, tell me what’s going on, and I pretend not to be judging you. Don’t worry—I’ve heard worse. Probably this morning.
Whether you’ve got a question about the book, want to collaborate, or just need someone to help you disappear a typo, I handle all inquiries with the same care I give to missing persons and warehouse conspiracies: discreetly, professionally, and preferably before the coffee runs out.
Drop me a line. I don't promise answers, but I do promise I’ll read it.
